After I go through the story “The Lottery” I think the people, who lived in that time had a wrong believe on the way they have done for other people. They can’t speak for their own right; they only know that it is a traditional and they had to follow it. Just in case, in the story, people in the village believed when someone had sacrifice themselves that will help the corn will be good to harvest. However, in the story Mrs. Hutchinson has speak for her own right, because she think that was unfair when people treat her that way. Therefore, I think people should speak for their own right when they are not agreeing with something. Even though, that is your opinion but it is good to speak up your own thinking.

i so agree with you and as you may already know me i love speaking my mind. on top of that i think it is stupid of the villagers to just follow everyone. it is like "if someone if going to jump off of the bridge, are you going to jump too?" >_<
