question 2

I think what implies in human nature is when humans are forced to choose between self-preservation and family commitment, it is natural for them to choose themselves. In the story, no one in the family volunteers to take another family member's place. It is clearly every man for himself.

  2. I agree with your comments. It's kind of scary to realize that most people are basically self-serving. I think that there are very few people in the world who will sacrifice themselves for someone else.

  4. i agree with everyone. you may heard that oh i put my family before myself or oh i would protect my family with my life or some thing like that but when it really come down to it *at least in this story* just like carlos said "every man for himself". >_<
